Subscription Update Obituary

     Dennis J. Foley, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on December 19,2017.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeannette (Meili) Foley; 4 children; Rob Miglin (Jill) of Burnt Hills, NY, Nancy Miglin of North Brookfield, Laura Morris (Paul) of Leicester, and Dennis Foley (Heidi) of Phillipston; his sister, Theresa Ingemi; a sister in law Marion Meil ; 6 Grandchildren; Marissa, Paul, Garett(Kristin), Benjamin(Caitlin), Daniel and Timothy; 2 great grandchildren, Madeline and Samuel; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ellen and Walter; a brother Louis and a granddaughter Allie Morris.

Dennis was a lifelong resident of North Brookfield, served in the Army Reserve for many years and graduated from Worcester State College. He began his career as an English Teacher at Quabbin Regional High School and later in life he went on to manage his own franchise with Arnold Bread Company where he was affectionately known as “the bread man.” Upon retirement, Dennis worked part time at Ahearn Equipment in Spencer, MA.

He enjoyed a good round of golf, shooting pool with friends at the Senior Center, playing cribbage and gardening. He loved traveling to new places, especially his trip to Ireland, where he got to kiss the Blarney Stone. Dennis was a member of the Knight of Columbus, active in the Democratic Town Committee and served on the Housing Authority. He was a New England Patriots Season Ticket Holder and an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox. One of his most memorable experiences was in 2001 when he got to meet the players and coaches from the Patriots during their run to a Super Bowl win.

Dennis took great joy and pride in spending time with his family, especially with all of his grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 27,2017 from 5-7PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert St. North Brookfield. The funeral will be held on Thursday with a Mass at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’ s Church 296 N. Main St.North Brookfield. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Second Chance Animal Shelter Po Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515 or The Telegram and Gazette Santa Fund, C/O Commerce Bank, P.O. Box 15204, Worcester, MA 01615-0204.
