Dennis George Morrissey, 70 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Dennis was born in Worcester, a son of the late William E. and Evelyn G. (Hudson) Morrissey. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester, the city he proudly claimed to be his home. Dennis was a business entrepreneur who explored many different business ventures including owning and operating Junior’s Pizza Grille and Paper Unlimited amongst other companies. Dennis was a collector of many things including coins, funny memories, and hugs from his grandchildren. He loved spending time in Maine at the beach, and appreciated a good Maine lobster. Dennis loved the many animals he cared for throughout his life, but held a special place in his heart for Charlie and Kelly. To best describe Dennis would be to say he was the life of the party who had friends from all walks of life. He had a great sense of humor, was a loyal friend, uncle, brother, Dad, and Bub and will forever be missed.

Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Sara M. (Maggio) Tercero and her husband B. David and Lauren E. O’Brien and her husband Kevin of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Alan W. Morrissey and his wife Sheila of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Michael Morrissey and his wife Cheryl of Hudson, NH, and Kevin T. Morrissey and his wife Patricia of Shrewsbury; his sister, Kathleen A. Thibodeau and her husband Tom of Seekonk, MA; five grandchildren, Madeline and William O’Brien, Mia, Ezra, and Alexa Tercero; many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dennis’ family on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4-7 pm with his funeral service immediately following at 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
