Subscription Update Obituary

David G. Douglas, 85, of Worcester died on Friday, January 12, 2024, in his home with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Cecile (Lafond) Douglas. He also leaves his children, David A. Douglas of Worcester, Mark E. Douglas of Tucson, AZ, Deidre A. Douglas of Mims, FL and Denine M. Weldon of Auburn, MA; four grandchildren, Douglas James Weldon, Christopher Aaron Douglas, Adam Robert Weldon and Chandler Jacob Douglas; a sister Lillian Honaker of Durham, CT and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Paradise, West Virginia, he was one of sixteen children born to Farley and Tennessee (Reed) Douglas. Mr. Douglas joined the US Airforce after graduating from high school. He spent twenty-three years serving our country throughout the United States and Europe. Prior to his civilian retirement, he worked as a courier for LabCorp. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Worcester. Mr. Douglas enjoyed coin collecting and working on jigsaw puzzles. He was an avid supporter of his grandsons’ sporting events and an avid fan of college football.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 18 at10:30 AM in the Church of the Nazarene, 146 Burncoat St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
