Subscription Update Obituary

     David, F. Gabis, Sr., 78, of Worcester died Wednesday, May 18th in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Faye H. “Libby” (Huggins) Gabis died in 2012. He leaves a son, S. Dewayne Gabis of Worcester; a daughter, Darlene Milionis and her husband, Greg of Worcester; six grandchildren, Melissa, Georgia, Kristen, Vasiliki, Gregory, Nikolaos; four great grandchildren, Akhai, Launa, Cole and Katara; a brother in law, Larry Huggins; two sisters in law, Jean Stratton and Brenda Sullivan all of Hartsville, SC. He was predeceased by a son, David F. Gabis, Jr.

He was born in Worcester the son of John Frank and Hilda (Anderson) Gabis. Mr. Gabis worked for the past 10 years at Hertz, retiring in 2016 and previously worked at Reed & Prince, as well as Northeast Clark Lift and WD Matthews for 28 years, retiring in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he worked as a mechanic. David enjoyed reading and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a graveside service at 11:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, May 20th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
