Subscription Update Obituary

     Courtney M. Edson, 62, of Worcester, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, October 11th in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sharon A. (Griffin) Edson; two sons, Sean S. Edson and his wife, Pam of Naples, FL and Jason P. Edson of Leicester; his daughter, Amanda L. Edson of Worcester; two brothers, Phillip L. Edson, Jr. and his wife, Alyce of Durham, NC and Joseph Edson and his wife, Elaine of Leicester; two sisters, Robin Hammock and her husband, George of Brooksville, FL and Allyson and her husband, Robert of West Boylston; a long time family friend, Daniel E. Hyland of Worcester and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Phillip L. Edson, Sr. and Claire (Julien) Edson. Mr. Edson had worked as a truck driver for American Asphalt, as a contract mail carrier and for the former Lechemere Company. He was a long time member of the NRA and the Gun Owners Action League. He enjoyed outdoor activities, dogs, small engine repair, shooting activities, and the joy of children’s laughter.

His funeral is Monday, October 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, October 15th for 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.
