Congetta M. “Connie” (Papagni) Diiorio, 81 of Worcester died peacefully on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Connie leaves her devoted husband of 63 years John Diiorio, her loving children, Nancy Diiorio, Jerry Diiorio and his wife Laurie, John J.Diiorio and his wife Kelly Chippas-Diiorio, Bridget L. Diiorio all of Worcester, and Guy Anthony Diiorio of Vero Beach Florida.Connie was the doting grand-mother to Robert, Marc, Tommie, Ariann, Dominic, Anthony, Brianna, Keslee, Xavyer, Sasha ,Dantay  ,Gyovanni ,Jessica and Eddy. She also leaves 7 great grandchildren, and her dear sister Julie Saksa and her husband Edward, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers Louis and Joseph Papagni.
Connie was born in Worcester daughter of Gaetano and Nunzia (Giaquinto) Papagni and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of North High School. Connie being the typical Italian Mother enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann.Connie was also a member of the S.S. Madonna Addorlorata Womens Society, (Our Lady of Sorrows.)Her Mother and Grand-mother were two of the original founders of that society. She loved wintering in Florida with her husband John and enjoyed a good day at the Casino. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.
 Connie’s funeral will be held on Monday August 15, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:AM in The Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday August 14 from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
 The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of the Notre Dame Hospice, especially Beth Williams. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Notre Dame Hospice 557 Plantation St. Worcester, MA. 01605.
