Subscription Update Obituary

     Clarence E. “Chico” Santos, 93, went home to the Lord on Thursday, October 15th after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Jennie (Mitchell) Santos; four children, Joseph Santos and his wife Brenda of Worcester, David Santos of Canada, Jeannie Wilson and her husband Glenn of Leicester and Linda Ward and her husband James of Worcester; stepdaughter, Mary-Jean Molley of Canada; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews whom he was very close to. Chico was predeceased by his three daughters, Peggy McManus-Gilmette, Carol Lomba and Patricia Ferreira; three brothers, Joseph, James and Howard Santos and his sisters, Margaret Silvia and Flora Peters. He was also predeceased by his devoted dog, “Charlie”.

Clarence was born in Rochester, MA the son of Eli and Margaret (Malloy) Santos. Chico worked for many years at Dapol Plastics before retiring. During his younger years, Chico was an amateur boxer. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. Chico was a hard working, kind and generous man. His house had an open door policy and would cook a meal for anybody.

The family would like to give special thanks for the compassionate care given to Chico by VNA Hospice Care team.

A visiting period for Chico will be held on Monday from 8:30 am until 9:30 am at CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham St. Burial will be at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
