Claire I. (Dumas) Geoffrion, 82, of Oxford, passed away surrounded by the family she loved Tuesday, March 5, 2024, after a brief illness.

Claire was born in Worcester, the daughter of Eugene and Yvette (LeBlanc) Dumas. Educated and raised in Worcester, Claire married the “Love of her life” Paul E. Geoffrion on February 27, 1960, spending the next 64 years, dedicated to each other, raising their family with love, faith and devotion, in Worcester, and the last 20 plus years in Oxford.  Claire worked for several area manufacturing companies including the Phalo Manufacturing company.

Claire is survived by her love, Paul; three children, Patricia Cormier and her husband Chris, Alan Geoffrion and his wife Maria all of Worcester, Paul Geoffrion and his wife, Alyson of Cape Elizabeth Maine; eight grandchildren she cherished, Ryan, Andrew, Alan and his wife Meagan, Tyler, Jessica, Michelle and her husband Jason, Melony, Dawn and her fiancé James McAdam :and seven great grandchildren.   Additionally, she is survived by a brother, Robert Dumas and his wife Maryanne; two sisters, Joan Tibbetts and Shirley Baker; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  Along with her parents, a Brother-in-law, Chick Baker predeceased her.

Claire was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them her entire life. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, bingo, playing cards, camping   and travel.  She truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important in her life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. Claire’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, March 12th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Her funeral will be held, Wednesday, March 13th from the funeral home with a procession to Holy Family Parish, St Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St where her funeral mass will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, in Paxton.
