Catherine H. (Reidy) O'Connor, 92, formerly of 260 Coburn Ave., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, March 14th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center.

Catherine's husband of 41 years John D. O'Connor passed away in 1989. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Kathleen M. Gruszka and her husband Charles of Worcester; two granddaughters, Maryellen Paquette and her husband Andrew of Auburn, Kathryn Robinson and her husband Michael of Round Lake Illinois; a great-grandson, Sean Robinson; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Dennis and David Reidy and a sister, Margaret Sawyer predeceased her. She was born in Worcester; her parents were the late Dominic and Mary (Houlihan) Reidy. She graduated from Commerce High School, class of 1932. Catherine grew up in Worcester, and lived 18 years in Harwich before returning to Worcester.

She worked as a legal secretary for Attorney William Doherty in Harwich more than 10 years before retiring. She previously worked as school secretary for the City of Worcester for 12 years.

Catherine was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, the Massachusetts Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association, the Harwich Senior Citizens Association and the Bishop Wright Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Catherine's funeral will be held Monday, March 19th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 18th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 559 Plantation St. Worcester, MA. 01605.
