Carolyn J. (Kazarnowicz) Magnusson, 80, passed away, surrounded by her family September 21, 2023 in St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert W. Magnusson, in 2009, her daughter, Karen M. (Magnusson) Gallant, in 2017 and her much loved brother, Frances Kazarnowicz in 2018.  Carolyn leaves behind two beloved sons William J. Magnusson and his wife Candy, and David W. Magnusson, as well as three grandsons, John M. O’Leary, Michael A. O’Leary and Edward A. Gaudet, who will always hold a special place in their hearts for her.  Carolyn will also be greatly missed by her cousin Gerry Pepper and her family, and several special friends whom she enjoyed many lunches and social visits with.

Carolyn was born on January 11, 1943 daughter of the late Stanley J. and Helen R. (Galeskas) Kazarnowicz.  Carolyn was raised in Worcester where she grew up and raised her family.  She graduated from Ascension High School and continued her education at Worcester State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Education.   Carolyn was a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools followed by her position in medical records at Fallon Clinic where she then worked for 35+ years.

Carolyn’s family was most important to her, and she enjoyed much leisure time visiting and spending time playing cards with Bill, Candy and Dorothea on a weekly basis, dinners with David and Heidi and especially enjoyed all holidays spent with her entire family.  She loved her crossword puzzles which, as an expert, she always did in ink.  Carolyn loved going for drives, especially along the coasts of Cape Cod where she enjoyed the ocean scenery and lighthouses and driving through New England in the Fall.

Family and friends are welcome to visiting hours on Monday, September 25th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston.  Burial will be held privately for the family at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
