Subscription Update Obituary

     Carol A. (Foss) Court, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Gloversville, NY, raised in CA, NY and Worcester. She was a daughter of the late Wilbur and June (Millward) Foss. She was the beloved wife of Alan G. Court who passed away in 2010.

Carol and Al “Alvis” lived in Holden, Rutland and Orange over their 35 years of marriage. Carol was a member of the drama club at the First Congregational Church in West Boylston, and she and Al enjoyed performing in other area play groups. Carol raised 6 children and 5 step-children. She was a sewing consultant at the Fabric Nook in Holden for over 12 years. She also worked as a clothing consultant, waitress, and a housekeeper at the Oakdale Nursing Home. She was a very talented seamstress creating numerous amazing quilts, wedding gowns, clothing for her children, draperies, and many household items, as well as braiding many rugs for her homes. She shared her talents of decorating with many friends and family members. Carol loved the outdoors, spending hours in her flower and vegetable gardens. Carol and Al enjoyed the outdoors biking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, camping, bird watching, and hosting neighborhood horseshoe tournaments. While living in Orange, she and Al were members of the Auxiliary Police. They also enjoyed traveling; road trips; a cruise and trip to Europe. Family and friends were very important to her, hosting many parties through the years. She loved all animals; her dog Lady, and many cats, her most recent being Abby who will miss her dearly.

She will be lovingly missed and remembered by three sons, Philip T. Moran and wife, Donna of Holden, Peter J. Moran and partner, Donna of Vancouver, WA, and Timothy M. Moran and wife, Kristine of Douglas; her three daughters, Susan M. Larrabee and husband, Jim of Phillipston; Elizabeth M. Duguay and husband, Christopher of Winchendon and Jennifer A. Williams and husband, John of Mechanicsburg, PA; three step-sons, Stephen Court of Holden, Barry Court and partner Ed of Daytona, FL, and Scott Court; two step-daughters, Cheryl L. Quimby of Conway, NH; Brenda Court-Goguen and husband, Dave of Conway, NH; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, William C. Foss of Boylston, a sister, Avery E. LaPrade of Worcester; an aunt, Cora G. Orsted of Barre; and brother-in-law John “Jack” M. Court and wife Sally of FL, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be lovingly missed by her prior husband of 22 years, Philip T. Moran and his wife Elaine D. of West Boylston.

A memorial service honoring Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11 am in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
