Subscription Update Obituary

     Carmella L. Gabriella, 88, of Liscomb Street, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, after a brief illness. She leaves two sons, Michael Gabriella of Worcester and Martin Gabriella of Malden and a daughter-in-law Carolann (Baglio) Gabriella of Malden; she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Michael D. Gabriella. She also leaves four grandchildren; Marti, Domenic, Anthony and Samantha Gabriella all of Malden. Three brothers Gaetano, Joseph and Salvatore predeceased her. She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Gaetano and Giacinta (Frustaci) Mirante.

Mrs. Gabriella was a nurse’s aide at the Belmont Home for over twenty years from which she retired twenty eight years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel – Saint Ann Church. She loved to crotchet and was an avid reader. She especially wanted to remember her life-long friend Connie DeCaro. The family would like to thank Dr. Clifford Browning for his care.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Carmella touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 and again at 8:45 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann’s Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that a kind donation in Carmella’s honor be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284.
