Beverly A. (Yoder) Strong, 71, formerly of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2017 at UMass Memorial – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by her loved ones. Her beloved husband of 44 years, Robert A. Strong died in 2012. Beverly was born in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of the late Earl F. and Mary A. (Clayton) Yoder and lived for 42 years in Princeton before moving to Oxford several years ago.

Beverly graduated from Canton High School and Bentley School of Accounting. She worked at State Mutual Insurance Company for several years, and later at Holden Nursing Home and the Princeton Police Department. Beverly loved to crochet, tend to her flower garden, play music trivia, and listen to country music, but most important was spending time with her family.

She will be remembered and lovingly missed by her daughter, Leigh-Ann M. Strong and her companion, Jeff Harris of Rutland; her son-in-law, Robert V. Ackerman, Jr. and Jhonny Silva Eca of Oxford; her two brothers, D. Wayne Yoder and his wife, Emily of Billerica and Randy Young of Florida; two sisters, Judy Snidely and her husband, Steve of Raynham, Christine Morales of Marlborough, Rosalie Martin of Florida and Sue Gagnon of Vermont; two grandchildren, Christopher T. and Joseph R. Ackerman-Strong. Besides her husband, Beverly joins her family who has gone before her including her son, Kenneth R. Strong and a brother, James Yoder.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Beverly’s family 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. in Holden, followed by a funeral service honoring her life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Beverly will be laid to rest next to her husband at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kurn Hattin Home for Children, 708 Kurn Hattin Rd., Westminster, VT 05158 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
