Subscription Update Obituary

     Bernard R. Symczak, 83, of Blaire House of Worcester, formerly of Charlton died October 7, 2014, at UMass Memorial Healthcare/University Campus. He leaves his wife of 60 years Constance L. (Brisebois) Symczak. He is survived by 4 sons Gary B. Symczak and his wife Kathleen of Sturbridge, Alan Symczak of Charlton, John B. Symczak of Florida, Justin M. Symczak of Sturbridge, and 4 daughters Debianne Brisebois of Spencer, Christine M. and her husband John Savasta of Worcester, Bernardine M.Symczak of Charlton, and Vanessa Le of Greensboro, NC, one granddaughter Kaydence E. Symczak of Sturbridge, and 3 step-grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was born in Webster, son of John and Bernadette (Alaire) Symczak. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army for 4 years, serving in the Korean War. He then enlisted in the US Air Force serving for 18 years with a tour of duty in Vietnam, and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1971. He later worked for over 15 years for the US Postal Service in Worcester. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was an avid golfer. The family would like to thank the staff of Blaire House for the wonderful care Bernard received while a patient there.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 10AM at St. Joseph’s Church H. Putnam Road, Ext. Charlton, MA 01507. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. There are no calling hours. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550 is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blaire House of Worcester c/o Patient Activity Fund 116 Houghton Street Worcester, MA.
