Subscription Update Obituary

Bernard James Cortright “Grampy”, Age 92, passed away on June 8, 2022 at his home in Bunnell, FL. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gay A. Cortright and their 5 children, Joan (Douglas) Brown of Garner, NC, Nancy Rodriguez of Worcester, MA, Bernard Jr. “Bernie” (Karen) Cortright of New Braintree, MA, Linda (Bruce) Swanson of Groton, MA, and Scott (Teffanie) Cortright of Bunnell, FL, 15 Grandchildren, 30 Great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley Berger, a brother Ronald Cortright, both of PA, and many nieces and nephews.

Bernard was born on August 21, 1929 in Bethlehem, PA, son of Robert C. and Edith (Johnson) Cortright. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and proudly served our country from 1948 until 1952. He was a long- time resident of Sterling Massachusetts.

Bernard was preceded in death by two grand-children, Angela Rodriquez and Issac Manuel (Manny) Rodriguez, also by two brothers, Robert C. Cortright and Edward Richotte, and by two sisters, Eleanor Blodgett McGrath and Phillis Ritchotte Bagge.

There was nothing more important in this world to Bernard than his family and we will miss him deeply. We will think of him always. We will talk about him often. We will hold him close within our heart. Although the loss is immeasurable, so is the love he leaves behind. May God welcome him into his Kingdom, love and protect him until we meet again.

A memorial service was held at the Westside Baptist Church, Bunnell FL on June 18, 2022.

Please join us for an additional Memorial Service, Wednesday, June29, 2022, at 10 AM Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton MA.
