Subscription Update Obituary

Benjamin Norton Davies of Delran, NJ passed away peacefully on Feb 24th, he was 79.

Ben was born and raised in Worcester, MA, son of Dr. C. Lindale and Dorothy (nee MacDonald) Davies. He graduated from North High School and The Boston University School of Engineering where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and ROTC.

Ben served proudly in the U.S. Army for more than 20 yrs, retiring as a Lt. Col. While in the service, he was a helicopter pilot, logging over 1,000 combat flight hours in Vietnam and more than 3,000 hours total. Ben was designated a Master Army Aviator and was a Standardization Instructor Pilot.

After Vietnam, Ben was employed at Riley Stoker Corporation, which relocated him from Worcester MA to Southern NJ. There he met and married Judith Norwood Davies, living in Delran (NJ) until his death. Ben worked more than 32 years as a Manufacturing Sales Engineer for the Lance Company/Philips Corporation.

Ben was an avid golfer and was a member of Pine Hill CC and Laurel Creek CC. He liked his Tanqueray 10 with a twist, his Johnny Walker to be Blue and his steak Pittsburgh Rare. He loved to travel with frequent returns to the Worcester area, West Falmouth, and Boothbay Harbor (ME) and numerous cruises around the world with friends at his side. He was a projects guy who always had a home to do list and loved helping his sisters and kids in their homes. He was happiest around his family and loved his role as Granddad.

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, in 2001 and by his brother James Clinton in 2006; he is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Ostergard), sisters Barbara Ramsdell of Southborough MA and Eleanor Bowden of Southport ME, children Benjamin of Spencer, MA and Katharine (Kevin) Grugan of Havertown, PA, grandchildren, John, Hope and Erin Grugan, numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A visitation for Ben will be held on Friday, March 18th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 W. Main St., Moorestown, NJ 08057.
