Subscription Update Obituary

Barbara L. (Hillgren) DeMauro, 85, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Christopher House in Worcester.  She is reunited in Heaven with her husband of sixty years, Pasquale “Patsy” DeMauro, who predeceased her in July 2016.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Diane R. McGee and her husband Wes of Oxford, and Nancy George and her husband Jay of Worcester; a sister Dawn Felch of Shrewsbury; a half-sister, Diane Majewski of Maine; three grandchildren, Lindsey Silva and her husband Nathan, Wesley DeMauro, and Meghan Baldwin and her husband Jason; two great grandsons, Conner and Colin; nieces and nephews.  Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Roger and Olga (Reid) Hillgren and his lived her most of her life.

Barbara worked for many years at Jamesbury Company in Worcester before she retired in 1996.  She also worked for many years as a waitress at the former Yankee Drummer in Auburn.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, baking, and caring for her family.

Barbara’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the nurses and staff at Christopher House, for their dedicated care shown to Barbara and her family.

Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, January 3, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Interment at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the charity of the donors choosing.
