Subscription Update Obituary

     Arthur L. Bouley died peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 46 years, Joan (Merrill) Bouley; his sons, Christopher A. Bouley and his wife Beth, and David M. Bouley, all of Oxford; his sister, Patricia Lariviere of Worcester; his brother, William Bouley, Jr., and his wife Ann of Ireland; his sister-in-law, Nancy Bouley; two grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Bouley; his mother-in-law, Mildred J. Merrill of Webster; his brother-in-law, Steven Merrill and his wife Diane of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, James Bouley and Robert Bouley; and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Bouley. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late William and Alice (Lambert) Bouley.

Arthur served in the U.S. Army in the 9th Engineer Battalion (Combat). He was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and was an active member of the Mass. and Central Mass. Associations of Land Surveyors and Engineers. Together with his brother Billy, they formed the land surveying company, Bouley Brothers, Inc.

He served the Town of Oxford as a member of the Founders Day Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Zoning Board of Appeals. He was a member of the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard, the Oxford Lion’s Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 4241, and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 and American Legion Post 58, all in Oxford. He enjoyed attending hockey and football games, playing soccer, softball, and golf, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Arthur’s family would like to thank the staff at the Hubbard TCU for their compassionate care during his final days.

A funeral will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Thursday, February 19, 2015, from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard, c/o Terrence Cummings, 9 Locust St., Oxford, MA 01540.
