Subscription Update Obituary

Arthur A. Croteau, 82, of Marlborough, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Clinton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Blais) Croteau, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. He is survived by his son, Richard A. Croteau and his fiancé Maryellen Desaro of Berlin; his daughters: Dianne Candido and her husband John of Marlborough and MaryAlice Croteau and her life partner, Ron Boule of Hampton, NH; his grandchildren: Marc, Nicole, April, Aimee, and Dominique; his sister, Cecile Banfill of Spencer and his sister-in-law, Connie Croteau of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Irene Barrette of Leominster, Leon Croteau of Oxford and Napoleon Croteau of Worcester.

Arthur was born in Worcester, son of the late Apolonaire J. and Rose J. (Tremblay) Croteau. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade, Worcester Junior College and received a Bachelor of Science degree at Northeastern University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Iceland. He previously worked at Telechron Co., Heald Machine Co., Worcester, and Raytheon Corp., Waltham. He taught technical drawing and design for 19 years at the Blackstone Valley Regional High School, retiring in 1987. He was a daily communicant at the Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the former St. Mary’s Parish, Marlborough. An anatomical gift was made to Boston University Medical School. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
