Arthur “Artie” B. Patterson, 60, of Shrewsbury passed away, February 22, 2018 in his home.

Arthur was born on November 2, 1957 in Brighton, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by his father James A. Patterson and his mother Pauline (Miller) Patterson.   Artie was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Gail (Mancuso) S. Patterson; a brother, Jeffrey R. Patterson and his wife Nancy of Bedford, MA; a sister, Beth A.  and her husband Scott Wasson of Shrewsbury; a brother in-law, Peter Mancuso; three nephews, James Wasson of Shrewsbury, Nicholas Mancuso and Jeffrey Mancuso of Leicester and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arthur worked for many years for the EXCELL Company until retiring early so he could devote his time to caring for his wife Gail.  He was her primary care giver for the past 11 years.  He always put Gail’s needs before his own, as well as others.  Uncle Artie helped James tremendously through the years and was instrumental in helping him complete his Boy Scout Eagle Project last fall.  He volunteered as a CERT member in Shrewsbury and was also a Town Meeting Member.  He was a life member of Leominster Sportsman’s Association.  He was an avid outdoorsman and over the years he enjoyed shooting at the many Ducks Unlimited Events.

Services for Arthur will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.   Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, February 26th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.  Those who wish to remember Artie by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider the Mohegan Council, Boy Scouts of America, 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving Texas 75015-2079 or online at www.
