Subscription Update Obituary

     Antonette V. (Volpe) Whitmore, 81, of Quinapoxet St., died peacefully at home under the loving care of her family on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was born in Port Morris, New Jersey, the daughter of Frank and Jennie (D’Auria) Volpe and had lived 35 years in Ledgewood, New Jersey and 23 years in Florida before moving to Holden.

Antonette graduated from Roxbury High School in Succasunna, New Jersey. She was an executive secretary for the U.S. government at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, where she worked for 38 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in New Port Richey, FL and a charter member of the Columbiettes.

She is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph T. Whitmore; a daughter, Nancy (Whitmore) Erali and her husband Christopher of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Natalie Erali of Malden and Jessica Milazzo and her husband Mark of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Teresa Kott of Flanders, NJ and Jean Nichols and her husband Peter of Ledgewood, NJ; a sister-in-law, Anna Volpe of Port Morris, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Lillian Grochowicz and a brother, Arthur Volpe predeceased her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden on Saturday, May 12, followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
