I believe that we all enter life with God’s love guiding us and that in death, God surrounds us with love and gives us peace that we never experienced in life.

I believe that silently, we all try to prepare for tomorrow. This is my tomorrow. I won’t leave behind a cure for cancer, but I was blessed to love and be loved. These are life’s greatest gifts. My gift of family is my wife, my love, Annie; my sons Anthony Jr. and his fiancé Krista Messina, Michael and my grandson Gino who lived with Papa and Grammie at our home on Fitzpatrick Road; my siblings Pasquale and Stella; my forever friends and much loved relatives.

I love you and thank you all for loving me. Look for me in my family’s eyes – I’m there.

Anthony P. “Tony” Turano, 67, passed away at home October 30, 2021 following an illness. He leaves his devoted wife, Anne Marie (Naumiec) Turano, his sons Anthony Turano Jr. and his fiancé Krista Messina of North Grafton, Michael Turano and his son Gino who lived with Tony and Anne Marie on Fitzpatrick Road, his brother Pasquale Turano and his wife Helen of Worcester, his sister Stella Battista, his niece Lisa Healey of Auburn and nephews Thomas Battista, Jr. of CA and Pasquale Turano, Jr. of Worcester along with several cousins, grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Thomas Battista, Sr. Tony was born September 10, 1954 in Worcester, son of the late Ida E. (Cola) and Antonio Turano. His roots were on Grafton Hill in Worcester but he eventually moved to Grafton where he and his wife Anne Marie raised their children.

Tony developed a love of cars in his teen years and was respected as an automobile enthusiast and expert. He was able to turn this passion into a successful, lifelong career in the automobile industry. Tony owned and operated Right Wheels in Auburn, MA and most recently worked in management at Imperial Cars in Mendon, which he considered his second home and the ownership and staff as his second family.

Tony was fiercely loyal to family and friends. He dedicated his time raising his sons with Anne Marie and in recent years, he cherished helping raise his grandson Gino who will dearly miss his beloved “Papa Tony.” He and Anne Marie always looked forward to family gatherings where the stories, laughs and delicious Italian food was always aplenty. Outside of work, he enjoyed time with family and friends for rounds of golf and competed in club tournaments at Pleasant Valley Country Club where he was a member for many years.

Tony was a passionate sports fan, closely following the Boston sports teams and every golf tournament that came across the tv screen. He cherished Sunday morning tailgating with his sons at Patriots games and they attended several of the Patriots Super Bowl appearances. He could talk baseball for hours with his nephew, Tom. Rumor has it, he may have placed a small wager. When the odds looked good, it was time to “send it in.”

All are welcome to gather with Tony’s family and friends Tuesday November 9th from 4pm to 8pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. Masks are required and social distancing observed. His funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please honor Tony with a donation in support of his beloved grandson Gino at Gino Turano Educational Fund c/o Homefield Credit Union 86 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536.
