Anthony Martocci, Jr. 68, a highly decorated war veteran formerly of Worcester died June 21, 2007 at home in Florida. He is survived by his wife Denise Colby-Martocci, his sons; Mark Martocci and his wife Sandra of Millbury, Anthony Martocci and his wife Karen of Sutton, his daughter Deana French of Franklin, MA and two Stepsons; Jarrod Colby of Malden, and Ryan Colby of Holden. A sister, Rita Germain of Worcester, and six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Martocci.
Anthony was born in Worcester son of the late Anthony Sr. and Mary (Rigero) Martocci and lived in Worcester most of his life. He moved to Florida several years ago. Anthony was a retired Marine Corp and Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He participated in many of the operations including Operation Chinook, Operation Praire 11, and Operation Big Horn all in Vietnam. He received a Vietnam Service Silver Star Medal, the National Defense Medal, and several other commendations.
Anthony was a longtime member of the Italian American Post #3, The East Side Improvement Club, and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed playing golf, and, spending time with his family and friends.
A funeral Mass for Anthony will be held Friday at 9:30 A.M. in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St., There are no calling hours. friends and relatives are asked to meet directly at church. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd, Hudson, Fl.34667, or to H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center Tampa Florida.
