Subscription Update Obituary

     Anthony John Roy, 28 of Oxford, formerly of Worcester passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 from an accident in his home.

Anthony was born in Worcester, on March 9, 1990, the son of Anthony R Roy, and Robin M. (Kendzierski) Roy.  He attended Seven Hills Charter Public School, later graduating from Worcester Vocational Technical High School.  As a youth Anthony enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and his Haro Zippo bikes.  After purchasing his first home Anthony moved to Oxford. Anthony was a devoted father, son, partner, brother and friend, He enjoyed spending time with family and friends including playing softball.  Anthony was an avid fan of all Boston sports; Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and the Boston Bruins, hosting many gathering to watch games and championships.

Through High School and continuing after graduation, Anthony returned to Seven Hills Charter Public School to work including coaching the girls’ basketball team for several seasons.  He enjoyed working with the kids and made many great relationships with staff and students.

Besides his parents Anthony is survived by his beloved son, Vincent Anthony Roy, his partner in life and family Angelina Marie Consolmagno; his sisters, Sara Ann Villegas and her husband Luigi, Sammi Marie Roy and Marie Kaitlyn Roy; his maternal grandfather, Timothy Corbett Jr. and paternal grandmother Virginia Roy; a niece Gabriella Villegas; a nephew Luigi Villegas Jr; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.  Anthony was pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother, Rita (Mondor) Corbett and his most beloved paternal grandfather, Raymond Roy.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Thursday, October 11th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME, 370 Plantation St.  His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Rev Walter Riley will be principal celebrant.  (Please go directly to church) Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will follow.   In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the Vincent A Roy educational fund, care of  Digital Federal Credit Union,  225 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester 01604.
