Anna (DiTaranto) Mancini-Palumbo, 91, of Worcester died peacefully Monday, August 11, 2014, in the Beaumont of Worcester. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Mancini in 1991, and her second husband, Orlando ‘Ollie” Palumbo in 2002. Anna is survived by her loving family; her sons, William Mancini, and Mark Mancini both of Worcester, Richard Mancini of New Hampshire, and Frank Mancini and his wife Sandy of Webster; two step sons, Anthony Palumbo and his wife Marian of Worcester, and Paul Palumbo and his wife Nanci of Sutton, and a step daughter, Maria Clem of Oxford; sixteen loving grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Anna also leaves two sisters, Julie Kullman and Mary Scricco both of Worcester. She was predeceased by three brothers, her twin, Michael DiTaranto, and Angelo and Joseph DiTaranto, two sisters, Helen Trance and Ida Renzoni also predeceased her.
Anna was born in Worcester daughter of the late Frank and Madeline (LaMonica) DiTaranto and lived here all her life. She was the manager at the former Cottage Donut Shop in downtown Worcester for many years before she retired. Anna was a long time member of the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St Ann and was also a member of its Golden Years Club and the Leisure Club at Our Lady of Loreto. Anna loved to cook, bake, and crochet .She enjoyed making crochet dressed dolls for family and friends. She loved to play Bingo and really enjoyed life. However her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Anna’s funeral will be held on Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN. 38105.
