Subscription Update Obituary

     Anna A. (Choiniere) Monfils Oby, 96, of Worcester, died in the Worcester Health Center on Monday, November 17th after an illness.

Anna is predeceased by her husband, Arthur S. Oby, who died in 1981. She is survived by her son Kenneth L. Monfils and his wife Ruth of Charlotte, NC; 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey Monfils and Lisa Lancaster; a sister, Claire Cofsky and her husband Ted of Arizona; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; many nephews and nieces including a special niece and godchild Janet Melia and her husband Paul of Sutton; her longtime companion, Ralph Lazzaro and his family with whom she had many wonderful years.

Anna was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Eugene and Albina (Grenier) Choiniere and is also predeceased by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Mrs. Oby worked as an assembler for the O.C. White Company for 15 years and previously worked for many years as a floor lady at the Stevens Sportswear Company. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW Southworks Post #3657. Anna enjoyed camping, dancing and always lived life to its fullest.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 22nd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Church 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the funeral home before the mass. Memorial contributions in memory of Anna may be made to Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Parish 600 Cambridge St. Worcester, MA 01610.
