Ann Marie (Ushkurnis) DiGregorio, 67, a loving wife and mother, passed away at home on her 41st wedding anniversary September 5, 2022, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Worcester on September 6, 1954, Ann was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Mary R. (Cronin) Ushkurnis.

She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in Worcester, class of 1972. She attended Northeastern University and worked 14 years for New England Telephone Co. before staying home to raise her family. She married the love of her life, Leo DiGregorio, on September 5, 1981 at St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland. They moved to Holden in 1982 where they resided the last 40 years.

Ann and Leo spent time at their summer home in NH and later in life at their vacation home in Costa Rica where they made many wonderful memories together. Ann volunteered as a patient advocate in the emergency room at St. Vincent Hospital. Ann was a strong supporter of many local charities including the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

Her journey in life was faith filled. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. Ann began and ended her day in prayer. She cared for those in need and helped others whenever she could. Ann was a virtuous woman and will be remembered for her passion for life and compassion for others.

Her home was often the center of neighborhood activities which included entertaining her family and many friends. She loved being a stay-at-home mom and was affectionately known as “Mrs. D” by the neighborhood kids. She supported her husband, Leo in his business ventures and was always a listening ear and voice of reason. She found humor in everyday living and enjoyed simple activities that brought her family joy.

She loved her family and friends her two cats and always filled her home with warmth and kindness. She touched everybody’s lives and made a point to listen and make all those around her feel so very important and special.
