Subscription Update Obituary

     Ann M. (Sanko) Stoddard 77, of Church Lane in the Wheelwright section of Hardwick and formerly of Cherry Valley, Ma., died Wednesday, June 1 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

She was the wife of William H. Stoddard, Jr. who died in 2003. She leaves her sons Don S. Markowski of Worcester and William H. Stoddard, III and his wife Edythe of Charlton, her daughter Sandra M. LaCroix and her husband Mark of Wheelwright, two brothers Stanley Sanko and his wife Flo of Cherry Valley and Edward Sanko of No. Grafton, 7 grandchildren Jared & Stephen Markowski, Wendy, Tara & Dennis Stoddard, Julie Sputo and Kimberly LaChance and 9 great grandchildren, and her “grand dog” Duncan, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Helen Mantyla.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of George and Sophie (Bagdanovich) Sanko.

Ann worked at Donahue Industries in Shrewsbury before retiring in 1968.

Funeral services for Ann will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, E. Brookfield, Ma. 01515.
