Ann Marie “Ria” (Millett) Pearson, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at UMass Medical Center after being stricken ill. She leaves her husband of 39 years Gordon P. Pearson and their two children, Sean M. and Taylor M. Pearson. Ria also leaves a brother Thomas R. Millett of Worcester, a sister Betsy L. West of Raleigh, NC and several nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas D. and Helen L. (Hart) Millett and graduated from South High School. Ria was a loving wife and mother. She and Gordon had just recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Ria chose to stay home and raise her children, which then led to her becoming a daycare provider for 24 years. She has loved all “her kids” as if they were her own, caring for them and watching them grow gave her the greatest joy. She enjoyed shopping, dinners with family and friends, but her favorite times were her family vacations, especially their yearly trip to Mexico.

Ria was an amazing, caring, giving, selfless and loving woman. She touched the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She was taken from her family and friends much too soon, but will forever live on in their hearts and memories.

Ria’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 14 from CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Wednesday, August 13 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Family Center, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
