Andree Marie-Louise Cassavant, 94, of Daytona Beach, Fl, formerly of Auburn, MA, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Sterling House of Port Orange, FL. She was born in St. Brieuc, France. She was educated in France and England. She received her B.A. from Clark University and her M.A from Assumption College. Mrs. Cassavant taught French for 20 years at Oxford High School, Oxford Ma. She was affectionately known as “Madame Cassavant” during those years. She enjoyed the seashore, reading, classical music, and anything French.
Roland J. Cassavant Sr., her husband of 43 years, predeceased her in 1990. She leaves her sons, Richard S. Cassavant and his wife Rena of Dudley, MA, Philip A. Cassavant and his wife Judy of South Daytona, FL; granddaughter Patricia Lesniewski and her husband Ian of Chelmsford, MA; step-son Roland Cassavant and his wife Sharron of Easton, MD. Her step-daughter, Nathalie Cassavant Lutfy, predeceased her. She also leaves step-grandson Stephen R. Cassavant of CA , step granddaughters Sara E. Mangat and her husband Mohnie of TX, Elizabeth Lutfy of CA, and Ellen Lutfy Naghavi and her husband Abbas of CA and step- great grandchildren Nathalia Shantih, and Alexis S. Mangat, Bita and Hamid Naghavi. She leaves many friends in the Auburn and Worcester area, and her friends Shirley Conn and Madeleine Thompson in Daytona Beach Florida.
Calling hours will be held Friday November 7, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. in Auburn. Her funeral will be held, Saturday, November 8, 2014 from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn, MA. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, in Paxton.
