Amelia (Collins) Whaley, 62, passed away June 7, 2015 in Worcester following an illness. She is survived by her son Joe Lloyd and his wife Erin, daughter Stevie LaBelle and her husband Tony and son Jessie Lloyd, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One brother predeceased her. Amelia was born October 7, 1953 in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the Anna and Joseph V. Collins, Sr. She spent most of her life in Worcester where she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid at Adcare Hospital for 25 years before more recently moving to Holden where she spent the last 13 years. Amelia found her calling working as a CNA, she spent her entire career working the 11pm-7am shift and often then working to take care of the elderly in their homes leaving very little time for herself. When she was able to she found her greatest joy with her four grandchildren, spending as much time with them as she could; day trips, shopping trips, attending their school and sports events were where you could always find Amelia, or to them their beloved “Mammy”. All are invited to gather with her family and friends Sunday June 14th from 12-1pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a Remembrance Service at 1:00pm in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest privately at her family’s convenience.
