Subscription Update Obituary

Alice Y. (Cyr) Cormier, 101, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, surrounded by loving family in the comfort of her home.  Her loving husband, Joseph E. “Yogi” Cormier, predeceased her in 1998.

Alice is survived by three son, Dennis L. Cormier of Worcester, Wayne N. Cormier and his wife Joyce of Charlton, and Richard E. Cormier and his wife Beatrice of France; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a great grandson, Xander Cormier and by her six sisters, Blanche Tower, Hennritta Holt, Lorraine Morrissey, Rita Higgins, Claire Steele, and Caline Burton.  Alice was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Oscar and Anna (Breault) Cyr.

Alice worked as a dietary assistant at the former Doctor’s Hospital, before retiring.  She had been a member of the former Saint Catherine of Sweden Church.  She loved to be surrounded by her family and enjoyed visits to the ocean.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, September 11, from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon, when her Funeral Service begins in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Private committal services will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
