Subscription Update Obituary

Alfred R. Letendre, 89, of Howe Village died Friday, January 28 in Dodge Park after an illness.

His wife of 62 years Maureen A. (Leyden) Letendre died in 2014. He leaves two sons; Kevin Letendre and his wife Nancy of Cape Coral, FL and Paul Letendre and his wife Karen in Brewster, two daughters; Michelle Zdunczyk and her husband Richard of East Brookfield and Kathy Chenette and her husband Stephen of East Brookfield, six grandchildren; Alfred Letendre, Tracy Axtell, Erin Giza, Sasha Strong, James Letendre & Amanda Jamieson and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Paul Letendre, two sisters; Jeannette Perkins & Claire Boisvert and two grandsons; Nathan Letendre and Raymond Chenette.

Alfred was born in Spencer, son of Willard and Lillian (Riendeau) Letendre. He was a construction supervisor for over 40 years at Cutler Associates in Worcester retiring in 1994. He was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish. He was a former Auxiliary Policeman and Fireman in the Town of Spencer. He was a former member and past president of the Spencer Exchange Club. He was a former corporator and trustee of the former Spencer Savings Bank now known as Cornerstone Bank. He was a member of the Local 107 Carpenters Union in Worcester. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He shot a hole in one at the Okemo Valley Golf Club in 2002.

Funeral Services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Spencer Exchange Club, P.O. Box 219, Spencer, MA 01562. J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing funeral arrangements.
