Subscription Update Obituary

     Alexander H. McLean, Jr., 76, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Luther Home of Worcester. His wife, Alice A. (Stewart) McLean, predeceased him in December 1990.

Alexander is survived by a son, Mark McLean and his wife Linda of Morrisville, PA; a step son, David Morel and his wife Margie of Shrewsbury; a step daughter, Cindy Makowiecki and her husband Peter of Scarborough, Maine; a sister, Gert Canzano of Shrewsbury; ten grandchildren, Ian, Ilana, Seth, Mandy, Meaghan, Katy, Amy, Michelle, Stephen, and Jimmy; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Mulvey, a step daughter, Cheryl Haskell, and by a brother, Bernard McLean. Al, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Worcester, son of the late, Alexander H. and Gladys (Winans) McLean.

He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and later served his nation proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Al worked for many years as a materials supervisor at the former General Motors Assembly Plant in Framingham, before he retired.

A Funeral Service for Alexander will be held on Tuesday, January 12, at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Metrowest Homecare and Hospice, 200 Nickerson Road, suite 110, Marlborough, MA 01752.
