Subscription Update Obituary

      Albert H. West, 92, passed away on Sunday Sept. 23rd surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Al is predeceased by his wife, Shirley H. (Weagle) West. He leaves his six sons, Dennis A. West of Titusville, FL, Albert C. West of Southbridge, Timothy P. West of Oxford, Todd D. West of Douglas, Michael West of West Port and Paul West of Oxford; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Paine of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by a brother, Charles Gilbert and four sisters, Clare Baltramitis, Gertrude Fanion, Charlotte Dietlin and June Gilbert.

Al was a pipefitter with the Local #4 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a Marine Corp veteran, serving during WW II in the South Pacific Theatre. Al was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Vernon Hill American Legion Post 435 of Worcester.

Family and friends will honor and remember Al’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, Sept. 27th from 9 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
