Albert A. “Al” Rodrique, 89, longtime Worcester resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Rose A. (Dolan) Rodrique; his devoted children: Michelle R. Hemmerling and her husband Andrew, of Enfield, NH, Kathleen M. Shultz and her husband Brian, of Sutton, Suzanne M. Rodrique and her fiancé James Novak, of Lunenburg, Ann E. Ruchala and her husband Bryan, of Rutland, and Thomas J. Rodrique and his wife Elizabeth, of Worcester; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Rodrique, Liam, Connor, and Aidan Hemmerling, Thomas and Kathryn Shultz, and Meghan, Owen, and Allison Rodrique; his siblings: Theresa Lessard, of Maine, Eva Donovan, of Millbury, and Philias Rodrique, of Cape Cod; along with several nieces, nephews, and close friends. Al was predeceased by his siblings, George Rodrique, Wilfrid Rodrique, Jean-Paul Rodrique, Yvette Rockwood, and Marie Beth Rodrique.

Al was born, raised, and educated in Worcester, son of the late Stanislas J. and Marie R. (Doucet) Rodrique. He graduated from Holy Name High School, and shortly thereafter began a lengthy career at Central New England Warehouse.

In his free time, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, teaching the grandchildren how to play cards, watching sports, doing volunteer work for Our Lady of the Angels and St. Vincent de Paul, golfing, and his favorite, spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Donate Online).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Rodrique family from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM, and will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels, 1222 Main St., Worcester, with burial to be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
