Subscription Update Obituary

Maureen A. (Leyden) Letendre, 81, of 87 No. Spencer Rd., died peacefully Tuesday, February 25th, surrounded by her loving family at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Alfred R. Letendre, her son Kevin Letendre and his wife Nancy of Cape Coral Florida, her daughter Michelle Zdunczyk and her husband Richard of East Brookfield, her son Paul Letendre and his wife Karen of S. Yarmouth, and her daughter Kathy Chenette and her husband Steve of Spencer, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of James and Doris (Gallagher) Leyden. She was predeceased by her sister Katherine, and brother James. Maureen graduated from Worcester schools and worked as a secretary for Attorney Charles Meloche in Spencer. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.

Maureen was always the first one to do for others. She enjoyed taking care of her family, spending time with her friends, vacationing to their condo in Florida, bus trips to the casino, and weekly dining with friends.

According to her wishes there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st. at 12pm in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary Food Pantry, 60 Maple St., Spencer, Ma. 01562.
