Subscription Update Obituary

     Harold E. Craft, 82, of Worcester died peacefully on Tuesday March 18, 2014 in the Ichabod Washburn House with his family around him. His wife of 60 years Mary (Grecho) Craft died in 2012. Harold is survived by his devoted children Andrew P. Craft of Manchester CT and Alexandra Nelson of Worcester with whom he lived. Harold was the doting grandfather to Joshua, Bryant, Elizabeth and Myles; loving father-in-law of Karon Craft; brother to William and Robert Craft; and uncle to many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son Charles Craft in 2004.

     Harold was born in Worcester son of the late Alfred E. and Elizabeth(Warner) Craft and lived here all his life. He attended North High School and graduated from Worcester Junior College. Harold also attended Clark University. Harold’s high school education was interrupted when he served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Harold also served in the Naval Reserve before retiring as a Signalman 1st Class in 1991. Harold worked as a Level 2 Mental Health Assistant at Worcester State Hospital for many years before he retired. Harold was a long time member of St. Mary’s Albanian Orthodox Church.

     Harold was an avid reader and also enjoyed cooking, baking and traveling. However his most treasured times were those spent with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

     Harold’s funeral will be held Tuesday March 25, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a service at 11:00AM in St Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church 535 Salisbury St. Visiting hours with the family will be held on Monday evening from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the funeral home. A Trisigion service will be held at 5:45pm during calling hours. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Nursing Home 300 Barber Avenue Worcester, or to the Ichabod Washburn Residence 1183 Main St. Worcester, MA. 01606.
