Subscription Update Obituary

     Carol (Jobes) Maleckas, 94, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Wedsnesday, Dec. 5, 2012 in St. Mary Healthcare Center, Worcester. Her husband of 57 years, Vincent Maleckas died in 2007.
She is survived by her sister-in-law and caregiver, Anna S. Leseman; her brother-in-law, Harold Holland, and several nieces and nephews including Kathryn Besch, Judith Emmons, Sandra Uhlig, Richard Holland, Gary Jobes and Donald Temple.
     Carol was born in Worcester on May 9, 1918 to Richard and Hazel (Daggett) Jobes and her ancestry traces back to John Jobes of New Jersey in 1660 and to the Daggetts of England in 1500. She was also predeceased by step daughters, Maureen Maleckas in 2003 and Judith Rubal in 2006 and her three siblings, Charles Jobes in 2004, Ruth Holland in 2007 and Evelyn Temple in 2003. Carol and her husband lived some 45 years on Brook St., Shrewsbury. Carol had a love of plants and flowers which she grew around her home and was a great lover of nature. She worked many years for American Supply Co., in Worcester. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Church, Worcester.
     The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday, Dec. 10 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. John’s Food for the Poor, 44 Temple St., Worcester, Ma, 01604.
