Albert J. Loconto, 86, passed away peacefully December 7, 2012 after a brief illness. His wife Lois Kay passed away in 2003. His first wife Shirley (Feola) Loconto passed away in 2007. Albert is survived by his son Robert Loconto and his wife Tracey and their children Iziah and Iayn, his stepson Kurt Liden, stepdaughter Cheryl Cournoyer and her husband Rob, and many nieces and nephews. Albert’s 6 brothers Joseph, John, Paul, Anthony, William and Frederick all predeceased him. He was born July 18, 1926 in Worcester, son of the late Maria (Albanese) and Pasquale Loconto. Albert grew up in Worcester and attended school there before joining the U.S.M.C. at age 18 and served his country with pride. Following his military service he worked at Grafton State Hospital and then Wright Line as a welder for many years. He loved to visit Bourne and East Sandwich on Cape Cod and spent many winters with his wife Lois at Daytona Beach in Florida. Those who knew Albert will remember a simple, hard-working man who loved spending time with his family, caring for his home and yard, and following the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. The family home was also the center of many gatherings and good times. He also was a member of the Italian American Post on Lake Avenue in Worcester. In lieu of flowers his family requests memorial donations to honor veterans to The Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 or online at www.WoundedWarriorProject.org.
