Subscription Update Obituary

    William T. "Gramps" Prince, Sr., passed away peacefully while sleeping Sunday, January 10th 2010 in his home.

    William's wife of 65 years, Marie A. (Russo) Prince passed away in December of 2006. He is survived by his devoted children, Diane M. Grasseschi and Estelle Cappabianca both of Worcester, Paul W. Prince and his wife Joanne of Millbury, William T. Prince, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Rockdale; two sisters, Estelle Maznick of Longmeadow and Dorothy Burdette and her husband Roy of Spencer; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. His sons in law, John J. Grasseschi and Pasquale F. Cappabianca, a brother, Stephen Prince and a sister, Alice Ferdette all pre deceased him. William was born in Boston a son of Paul F. and Margaret (Leighton) Prince and has lived here all his life.

    William worked as a truck driver for Holmes Transportation many years before retiring at age 65. He then drove a truck for his son in law and grandson Grasseschi Plumbing & Heating.

    William was a member and usher for Our Lady of Loreto Church, a member of the Pope John Council Knights of Columbus, a 4th degree life member of the Bishop O'Reilly Assembly, a member of the Teamster Local 170 Union, and an avid bowler and member of the Friday night Couples bowling league. William was also a devoted Red Sox fan and never missed watching a game. He was a man who loved his family and being with them. His most special times were the family vacations he spent every summer on Cape Cod.

    His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 13th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, January 12th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Members of the Pope John Council Knights of Columbus and Bishop O'Reilly Assembly will meet at 6:30 p.m Tuesday in the funeral home to conduct their ritual. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd. 01604.
