William R. Strandberg, 77, died in Radius Healthcare of Worcester on November 24, 2009, after a long battle with lymphoma. Born in Deerfield, NH, to Arne and Agnes (Hammarstrom) Strandberg, Bill grew up in Upton and lived in Shrewsbury and Sterling before moving to Oakham in 1984. For nearly half a century, Bill ran his own business doing concrete work, leaving lasting monuments to his expertise and hard work, all across Worcester County.

    A cheerful, helpful, good-hearted man, Bill will be deeply missed by his friends, fellow workers, and family-including his surviving brothers Victor Strandberg and his wife Penny of NC and John Strandberg and his wife Carla of TX; nieces Anne and Susan Strandberg of NC and nephew Timothy Strandberg of TX; and many close friends. An older brother, Arne, predeceased Bill in 2006. Bill’s passing leaves a great void in the many families that he was a part of. For many years, Bill has been a member of Triumphant Life Church.

    The family and friends of Bill wish to express their gratefulness to the staff of Radius Healthcare of Worcester for their compassionate care of Bill during his final illness.

    Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009 and also to a Celebration of Bill’s life at Triumphant Life Church, 166 Holden Street, Worcester at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission E 4, 39 Burnshirt Road, Suite N, Hubbardston, MA 01452. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street is directing arrangements.
