Subscription Update Obituary

   William R. "Bill" Stark, 75, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007 after a long illness. He was married to Patricia (Johnson) Stark for 45 years. He leaves his three children: Jane S. Champagne & her husband Victor of Dudley, Patty-Ann Krajewski & her husband Boguslaw of Mendon and William C. Stark & his wife Lisa of Mattapoisett; four grandchildren: Victor, Grace, Abigail & William; three brothers: Donald of Shrewsbury, David of Spencer & James of Worcester; and a sister, Jean Hart of TX. He was born in Worcester, the son of Charles & Jean (Ivory) Stark and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a decorated US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Bill worked for many years at the Wyman Gordon Co. and later for Astra Pharmaceuticals, until he retired in 1993. He was a 50 year member of the Guiding Light Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and Aleppo Shrine. He was a past Patron of the Pakachaug Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and many of their fraternal organizations. Bill was a volunteer for the Spencer Fair grounds and one of the founding members of the Spencer Snowbirds Snowmobile Club. He was a longtime member of the Spencer Congregational Church. Bill will be missed by all his family and friends.

   The funeral will be held on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Spencer Congregational Church, 207 Main St., Spencer. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, PO Box 187, Spencer, MA 01562 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 163 Main St. is directing arrangements.
