Subscription Update Obituary

William Pechinis, 92, of Worcester, passed away Saturday, January 20, at University Commons, 378 Plantation St. His wife, Mary (Lada) Pechinis died in 1978.

He is survived by two sons, William D. Pechinis and Thomas E. Pechinis, both of Worcester; and two daughters, Patricia M. Thomas of Shrewsbury, and Carolyn Troy of Worcester; a brother, George Pechinis of Michigan; eight grandchildren; two great grand children and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter, Jean F. Zoto; a brother, Thomas Carmon and a sister, Ann Markonic. He was born in Worcester, son of William and Ann Pechinis and lived here all his life.

Mr. Pechinis was a printer worker at Wyman Gordon Co., prior to WWII and later at Melville Shoe / ThomMcAn, Co. until his retirement in 1978. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II receiving two Purple Heart medals. He attended Worcester Boy's Trade School. William enjoyed gardening.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Tuesday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
