William Michael…Bill Brennan, 82, of Auburn, MA left us August 20, 2021 after a while of declining health and would like to tip a glass of Narragansett to one and all.
He leaves behind a devoted wife, Judie (Mosley) Brennan of Auburn, and grateful children Timothy Brennan with his wife Doreen Brennan of Goffstown, NH, and Robert Brennan of Worcester, and daughter Donna Larson with her husband Stephen Larson and grandsons Jack Larson and Seth Larson of Leicester. He was always proud to see their great football and baseball games and will be missed at his Tuesday excursions with good friends Jack Head and John Dansereau. Along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, New England sports will roll on without his hot-take. The basement TV will remain quiet and there will be less Busch Light in the house.
He was born October 28, 1938, the only son of William James Brennan and Anna Nugent, both children of recent Irish immigrants and a rabbit hole of genealogy loose ends. Born and raised in Worcester, he was a 1950s car-enthusiast hooligan and strongly encouraged toward military service with a tour in Germany for the Berlin Crisis in 1961. That settled him down with a wife and family in solidly suburban Auburn for 60+ years. He drove tractor trailers as an art and science for United Parcel Service in Shrewsbury for 36 years and a lifetime of road stories. Union benefits and a well-managed pension gave him a long, comfortable retirement with a winter home in Fort Pierce, FL where he and Judie have had many amused friends and neighbors.
He and his family would really like to thank the great staff, lovely patients, and good-humored visitors to Life Care Center of Auburn for several months of challenging medical drama and regular jaunts around the facility. He was a man on the move with story to share right up to the end.
Family and friends will celebrate his life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, with visiting hours from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn, and he will then be laid to rest at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
In lieu of donations, Bill would encourage everyone to have a cold beer and a smile. He knows he had a good run. And he’d remind you that Tom Brady has one maybe two good seasons left in him like he has for the past 15 years.
