Wilfred “Larry” LaChance, 81, of Millbury, passed away on Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at Rose Monahan Hospice Facility, surrounded by his family and a special friend, Veronica Beard.
Larry was born in Maine, son of Patrick and Ludivine LaChance. He is predeceased by his wife, Carmen LaChance who died in 2007 and a daughter, Donna LaChance, who died in 2010. Larry is survived by three sons, Lawrence LaChance and his wife Sandra from Grafton, MA, Kenneth LaChance and his wife Louise from Hoschton, GA, Michael LaChance of N. Grosvenordale, CT and a daughter, Patricia Boucher and her husband Wayne from Worcester, MA. Larry also leaves 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, a brother, Arthur LaChance and his wife Jerry, 3 sisters, Dorothy Reny, Patricia Reny and her husband Raymond, Jacqueline Plourde and her husband Arthur. All siblings are from Maine and one predeceased brother, Edmond LaChance. Larry was survived by many nieces and nephews, and many, many wonderful dear friends. Larry grew up on a farm in Maine, served in the Korean War, and then he relocated to CT and then moved to Millbury, MA. He was self employed all his life. His major employment was at Arnold Bread Wholesaler. When Larry wasn’t working his passion was being able to plant and maintain a garden wherever he could plant one.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilfred LaChance’s name to the Rose Monahan Hospice Facility, 10 Judith Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 with a Mass at 9:00 AM at Assumption Parish, 10 Water St., Millbury, MA, 01527.
Burial to follow at the Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA, 01612.
