Subscription Update Obituary

    Weldon P. Kilgar, 78, of 62 Abbott St, died Thursday, March 25 at home.

    He leaves four children, Anita St. Laurent and her husband Ronald St. Laurent of Worcester, Judith Kilgar-Ng of Ohio, David Kilgar of Worcester, and Christopher Kilgar and his wife Christine of Worcester; a sister, Joyce Hanson and her husband Paul of Worcester, 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved pets, Mia, Muffy, Jr., and Tuffy. He was born in Nova Scotia, son of Francis F. and Vera A. (Alden) Kilgar, and has lived here most of his life. He graduated from South High School and the former Worcester Junior College.

    Weldon was a crane & forklift operator for Heald Machine Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was active in the Park Congregational Boy Scout Troop and was a member of the Naval Reserve. His hobbies consisted of flying remote control planes, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

    The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 30 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a service at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 30 from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Avenue, Worcester, MA 01603.
