Subscription Update Obituary

Webb N. Rowden, 97, of Fl., and formerly of Leicester, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27th in his Florida residence.

He was the husband Marjorie E. (Dorr) Rowden died in 2008, after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and his second wife Jacqueline (Abrams) Rowden, who died in 2014,  He leaves his sons; Mark Rowden of Leicester and Steven Rowden and his wife Beth of Beverly Beach, FL., his daughter; Gail Provo and her husband Bruce of Rochdale, his sister; Deborah Foy of Leicester, 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother; Paige Rowden and sisters; Martha Doherty and Nancy Erickson.

Webb was born in Ware, the son of Newton and Henrietta (Webb) Rowden and graduated from Leicester High School and Worcester Junior College. He later served his country with the US Army during WWII & the Korean War.

Webb worked as an engineer for Norton Co. in Worcester and Allied Signal, Inc. before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Auburn Lodge of Elks, the Moose Club in Zephyrhills, FL., and the Leicester Senior Center. He served on the town planning board and the school committee. He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He also loved to play cribbage and games with his great grandchildren.  He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be missed.

A funeral service for Webb, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6th at 10:30a.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leicester Food Pantry, 756 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.
