Walter E. Jacobs, 87, died Saturday May 19, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital.
His wife, Alice F. (O’Malley) Jacobs died in 2004. He leaves a daughter, Alice F. Hart, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, 3 grandchildren, Gary A. Hart, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tara L. Auty, of Mendon, and Wendy J. Hart, of Clermont, Fla., and a great granddaughter, Madison Auty.
     Born in Worcester, son of Walter H. and Alphonsine (Tellier) Jacobs, he graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School, and served with the U.S. Army during WW2 in Europe where became a POW in Germany and was given a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in combat.
He then worked for more than 35 yearsat Norton Co. and lived in Paxton for 58 years.
     A funeral will be held Thursday May 24 from Caswell-King Funeral Home 474 Grove St. Worcester with an 11 am. Mass in St. Columba Church 10 Richards Ave. Burial
will be in Worcester Co. Memorial Park. A calling hour in the funeral home will be from 9:30-10:30 on the day
of the funeral.
