Subscription Update Obituary

    Virginia (McIntyre) Jackson of Worcester, died Friday, March 26, 2010 in the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester.

    Her husband of 58 years, Paul Jackson, died in 2002.

    She leaves two daughters, Pamela Markert of Worcester and Barbara N. Bailen of East Lansing, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Benjamin and Lianne Markert, and Suzanna and Michael Bailen.

    She was born in Laurens, South Carolina, daughter of Maxwell G. and O. May (Glenn) McIntyre.

    She was a graduate of Greenville High School, Greenville, South Carolina and Wingate Junior College in North Carolina.

    Before her marriage, Mrs. Jackson was a secretary in a dental clinic on the Donaldson Army Air Base, in Greenville.

    She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered with parent teacher organizations at her children's schools.

    She enjoyed landscaping and gardening, sewing and tailoring, and hairdressing along with various other crafts.

    Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will be private.

    The family requests memorial donations be made to Holy Trinity Hospice, 1183 Main St., Worcester, MA 01603. Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
